Joy Hagerty , Founder and President of International Southern Solutions, Inc. brings to her clients a wealth of retail best practices experience combined with an in depth knowledge of how to successfully do business with retailers in the U.S. and internationally.

Ms. Hagerty began her 11 year Wal-Mart career in Store Operations She received Rookie of the Year award as a District Loss Prevention Supervisor in California in 1995. She was promoted to be the head of Loss Prevention for Wal-Mart China in 1998 where she received the Wal-Mart International Loss Prevention Country Director of the Year Award in 1999.

In 2000, Ms. Hagerty was promoted to be the Senior Director of Corporate Affairs, reporting directly to the President and CEO of Wal-Mart Asia. She was instrumental in the expansion of Wal-Mart in China by working with the Minister of State Economics, Governors and Mayors throughout China.

Ms. Hagerty started her buying career in 2001 with Wal-Mart China. She was promoted to be the General Merchandise Manager over all non-food categories. She worked closely with key suppliers in developing merchandise, packaging design, and marketing tools which resulted in double digit sales growth and improved profits.

In 2003, Ms. Hagerty was promoted as a Divisional Merchandise Manager for Wal-Mart International based in Bentonville. She was responsible for working with global electronic buyers and suppliers to share best practices and improve sales and profitability. She supported buying teams in China, Japan, Korea, UK, Germany, Canada, Mexico, Brazil and Argentina.

In 2004, Ms. Hagerty joined the newly established Wal-Mart Office of Diversity as Director of Diversity Relations. She was able to use her background to help organizations and businesses gain more access to Wal-Mart. She also played an important role improving Wal-Mart’s relationships with Asian, Native Americans, Mature Adults and People with disabilities.

Ms. Hagerty founded International Southern Solutions Inc. in 2006, offering consulting services on how to develop and sell products to retailers like Wal-Mart and Sam’s Club. She works with Clients from U.S.,China, India and Pakistan on growing business strategically.

Ms. Hagerty received her B.A. degree in Accounting from Northeastern State University, Oklahoma. She is a Certified Public Accountant. She is bilingual in English and Chinese. She has completed Executive training courses by Harvard Business School; “High Impact Presentation” and 12 weeks “How to Win Friends and Influence People” courses by Dale Carnegie Corporation. She also has graduated from “Six Sigma Continuous Improvement” courses offered by GE corp.
